UNDERWRITING - TITLE COMMITMENTS AND POLICY ISSUANCE

Dear Associates:

Please be advised that all title requirements should be satisfied by the parties (buyer/seller; borrower/lender) prior to closing. Once the transaction has closed, policies should be issued by title agents to the insured as soon as possible, to avoid any post-closing issues. Furthermore, agents should not hold open policies post-closing, or address any title requirements as a post-closing item. Any post-closing matters should be discussed directly with an underwriter.
