- UNDERWRITING - Cook County Recording Changes
Effective immediately, the Cook County Recorder of Deeds has stated that the following documents will no longer be recorded.
- Affidavits related to heirship, regardless of the document title
- Deeds from heirs of a deceased owner as the grantor
- Residential real estate contracts
- Documents to be re-recorded to correct errors without a Corrective Affidavit signed by all parties to the document
With regards to deceased owners, the recorder’s office is stating that they will record a court order determining heirship and a Notice of Probate and Release of Estate’s Interest.
